Exploring the unique concept of Simultaneous Oneness and Multiplicity present within the concept of Ik Oaṅkār as bought forth by the Gurūs & commentated by Bhāī Maṇī Siṅgh.
So is reincarnation solely based on Divine play? Is this correct understanding? Their is no concept of past life karma in Sikhi and just based on hukam right (Nanak hukmee avo jaoo)?
Also Bhai u say world is false what about these verses:
In the above article I have stressed that the material manifold is Mithya or Illusory, but, this does not mean it is false or Asat. Asat or False would suggest that it neither appears to exist and neither exists, but, this would be incorrect as we are currently experiencing the material world. therefore, it can not be stated that the world does not appear to be true.
Regarding the Divine Play (Sakal Kal Ka Kiya Tamasha), Reincarnation and Hukam it should be understood that as long as one is in the dreaming state, the multiplicity experienced seems to be real but it is only upon waking does one realize the illusory nature of the dream and that it was a mere imagination of the mind. in the same sense, as long as one is experiencing the manifold, the manifold/world seems to be true, therefore, whilst one is in the material plane the Divine Play (Tamasha), Hukam and Karma exist and there existence can not be rejected. It is only upon the realization of oneness and recognition of the illusory nature of the world does one become free of this illusion/trap, akin to how one only upon waking realizes the illusory nature of the dream.
Hukam and Karma:
Though they may seem as contradicting concepts but upon a further analysis it becomes clear that this is merely a misconception. in Jaouji we find two statements which seem in opposition on first sight - 'Hukmai Andar Sabh Ko Bahar Hukam Na Koe' and 'Aape Bij Aape Hi Khahu' in one place Guru Ji stress everything being under Hukam and in another place all being in accordance to ones previous Karma. Here, there is no contradiction there is only a need to change one's perspective and definition of Hukam. Here is a example given by a close friend:
Hukam and Karma can be understood as a Dog and a Dog Walker. The Dog Walker dictates the atmosphere of the Dog but the Dog has the freewill to move as he wishes and act as one wishes. The fruits of Karma/actions of the Dog are bestowed by the Dog Walker by changing the atmosphere (Situations).
In the above verses one sees the world being depicted as true, which seems to be contradictory but upon further analysis one can create a harmony between the verses mentioned in my article and the above verses given.
It is important to consider the fact that each and every Spiritual Seeker (Sikh) are on different Avasthas or Spiritual States. Therefore, Gurbani being for all people irrespective of which state they are in, Guru Ji provides different perspectives to be adopted for each Sadhak. So to invite the fiery desire of liberation Guru Ji have stressed the world being true/ stressing duality. These Shabads do not inspire a dualistic view they only inspire one to walk on path of love and search for the truth. only Duality can inspire the search for Non -Duality. A thorn in the foot can be removed only by using another sharp thorn to take the existing thorn out, and, upon removing the thorn, both thorns are to be discarded. in the same sense, to remove duality duality is needed. and upon removing Duality using duality, both are to be discarded. Hope this helped! sorry if there are any grammar mistakes as I am writing this out of a school computer with minimum time.
Very similar to Advaita Vedanta. Every saint (across religions) who is enlightened says the same thing as the experience is same. Language may differ a bit as these concepts cant be fully expressed in language, so these are approximate attempts.
